SWCP, Day 1, Tuesday 16th April, home to Lynton, 8 miles ish

So much planning and then it nearly all collapsed. However my eye got lasered back together yesterday, on my birthday! 10 hours at the hospital, I have been cleared to walk but not to do kick boxing 😳 so i took a later than planned train from Salisbury to Taunton.

Great signposts at Taunton station to the Minehead bus, even with my laser eyes! Always a worrying moment finding the right bus stop and the correct bus, #28 !!

Made all my bus connections (with 2 minutes to spare) i managed to photo the start of the trail, though as I did the first bit last year I caught a bus to County Gate and walked from there.

Just the 3 attempts to start on the right track, mutter mutter. Lovely views, sunshine, so many benches, a few streams to splash across and a little mud but not bad. Made it up the killer hill to the campsite ridiculous, 50 paces and a rest, and repeat and repeat for nearly a mile.

I haven't forgotten my poles so my tent is up.
